This empirical research seminar deals with the interaction between users and information systems (IS) incorporating artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities, such as voice assistants, robo advisors, or autonomous cars. Participants in the seminar will take part in studies investigating how users perceive, use, and evaluate AI-based IS. The seminar begins with two introductory lecture sessions, which provide an overview of the technical foundations of AI and summarize existing theories regarding the interaction between users and AI-based IS. Following, the participants will work in groups of 3 to 4 members and conduct an empirical research project related to user interaction with AI-enabled systems. Please find further information here.
The examination consists of a final presentation and a report that will be handed in after the final presentation.
